After almost five years of research activities, the ENOVAL program has successfully been concluded. With the newly developed technologies for turbofan engines, it will be possible to significantly cut emissions of carbon dioxide and noise. “We’ve fully achieved the objectives we had in mind when we started,” says MTU Aero Engines’ Dr Edgar Merkl, who coordinated the technology program, “and clearly demonstrated how much additional potential still exists in turbofans.” The new technology is slated to fly starting in 2025.

The ENOVAL project organized a supply chain workshop at the AIRTEC congress on October 27, 2016. The workshop was entitled 'Ultra-High Bypass Ratio Aero-Engines - New Opportunities and Challenges for Suppliers', and featured five invited presentations, an ENOVAL overview presentation by project coordinator Edgar Merkl and a panel discussion.

The ENOVAL project attended the 65. DLRK in Braunschweig which was held on September 13-15, 2016.

The ENOVAL project attended the 7th European Aeronautics Days that was held on 20-23 October 2015 at the QEII Centre in London.

Ecole Centrale de Lyon and Turbomeca published a paper on "Application of an Analytical Method to Locate a Mixing Plane in a Supersonic Compressor" in the framework of the ASME Turbo Expo 2014. The publication is now available on-line.
ENOVAL has been up and running since October 2013. A two-day official kick-off event took place on October 28-29, which saw over 140 representatives from the aviation industry, research, academe and from the European Union come together in Freising, near Munich.
