UNIFI Department of Industrial Engineering (DIEF) born in 2013 by the union of Department of Energetic with other Departments to increase research capability and teaching offer. Research areas includes energetic, turbomachinery, mechanical design and manufacturing, management, applied physics and chemistry. Three different research groups of DIEF are involved in ENOVAL: The HTC Group, the Traf Group, and the LS&M Group.

Role in the project

In WP4.2 UNIFI will contribute to the study of aeronautic power gearbox: For the experimental test article setup (T4.2.1) and related experimental analysis of gearbox windage losses (T4.2.2) For appropriate set-up of CFD simulations (T4.2.3) and for a systematic comparison between experimental results and CFD simulations (T4.2.4). In WP4.4 UNIFI will contribute to study the noise emission reduction: With CFD and CAA analyses to allow aerodynamic improvements and noise suppression. With the performances assessment of acoustic liners for reducing noise emissions and for tuning CFD tools
