Chair of Aero Engine Design (Flug-Triebwerksdesign) from institute for traffic engineering at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. Member of Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre (UTC) network with focus on Multidisciplinary Process Integration. Chair founded in 2012. Academically: Design oriented lectures, exercises and project works in course of aero engine technology. Research works in close cooperation with Rolls-Royce Deutschland: Aero engine installation and integration, design and system engineering methods, 3D design work & Thermal and Stress analyses as well as unit- and lifecycle cost oriented design

Role in the project

WP 3.4 "Large Engine Nacelle / VAFN System": nacelle technologies with variable area fan nozzle to allow ultrahigh BPR / very high OPR engines. Design space evaluation of VAFN concepts for large engine. Conduction of trade studies to assess the sensitivity and feasibility of VAFN concept for large engines. Power plant level assessments for large engines.
